Overview

Our client Mr Sheikh Al Thani is originally from Qatar; he bought a house in London for his family to live in during the summer season. Our client was a developer and had a clear vision for the new design. We helped our client with whatever ideas he had, and executed them in the most efficient way possible. He wanted to enlarge the living room, so we added a rear extension to the ground floor. We had to knock through the rear wall on the ground floor to add the steel beam to support the 3-story house.
Planning And Management
We liaised with our client to execute all the planning, working together to help him to create the house that he envisaged.
Site

The houseis located in Moncorvo Close, Knightsbride, LondonSW7. It is in a prime location, north of Brompton Road and just a short walk to Hyde Park. It is among the most desirable locations in central London as it is a high-end residential area with a unique layout. The area takes its name from the road that runs along Hyde Park South, west from Hyde Park Corner, spanning the city of Westminster and the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea.
Design and Build
We had to change the whole structure of the house because our client wanted 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. We used modern materials to provide our clients with a luxurious look.
Our client’s ideas were impressive, which allowed us to build a new kitchen with a modern and deluxe look. We built a neutral-palette kitchen, added slab-door cabinets, and used the simplistic design to match the reflective splashback and recessed lighting perfectly.
This project was a complete refurbishment, with new Mitsubishi AC integrated system to every room.
We installed new plumbing and wet system underfloor heating to all rooms and landings, and included radiator tails as a back up option as requested by the client, to each room. We installed new electrics and AV, all controlled via an iPhone App and Lutron system.
M&E was designed by our client’s subcontractor, and we implemented and installed the design. We installed dropdown cinema screens with projectors over the bulk head to the children’s playroom, the reception room, and the main living room on the ground floor; each was custom built and designed so that with a touch of a button the blinds and shutters closed and the whole room transformed into a cinema scene with the screen dropping from the bulk head. All downlighters installed were Astro plaster, with deep recess bulbs.
All bedrooms were built with ensuite bathrooms with large format marble finishes, smart toilets with concealed Gibberit cisterns, and floating basin countertops to mimic the look and style of the Hilton Hotel.
Our client wanted the front of the ground floor to be rendered with special mixed render to capture the look of the Safari Desert in Qatar.
New composite sash windows were installed throughout the property, with security grills to first floor balconies and ground floor patio doors.
Materials
We used all modern materials and energy-efficient appliances to curb electricity bills. We added Lutron electronics and media, and a wet underfloor heating system to the whole house. We added two boilers with 600L cylinder capacity to the new plant room on the ground floor.
